Dr. Anthony Cardillo, MD
Dr. Anthony Cardillo is the founder of Premier Health Partners which manages several Emergency Departments in the greater Los Angeles region. Dr. Cardillo began his medical careers as an EMT-D for New York City EMS. It was during that time that he also helped develop the Fordham University Emergency Medical Service.
He then went on to receive his medical degree from the USC School of Medicine in Los Angeles. Dr. Cardillo completed his residency in the prestigious UCLA double board program in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Cardillo is now on staff at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center Emergency Department in Glendale, California. In 2008 Dr. Cardillo alongside a team of doctors, he founded DOX Solutions, LLC., which created a heart healthy beverage known as Cardio Water. As well as creating cardio boosting water he has taken his passion for healthy eating by becoming a medical consultant for LYFE Kitchen. Additionally, he has not lost his devotion to teaching and holds a faculty position at University of Southern California (USC) as an instructor in clinical medicine. Dr Cardillo is also a co-founder of the IEPC (Independent Emergency Physician Coalition) which is the first coalition in California for Independent Emergency Medicine Groups.
Dr. Anthony Falsetti, Ph.D.
Dr. Falsetti is a Board Certified Forensic Anthropologist with nearly 25 years of higher educational, field and courtroom experiences. His previous work experience includes an administrative position in Sarajevo as the Deputy Director in the Forensic Sciences Department at the International Commission for Missing Persons where he oversaw the mortuary and field activities of the Anthropology and Archaeology Division. At the University of Florida, Dr. Falsetti served as the Director of the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory and Co-Director of the William R. Maples Center for Forensic Medicine, and was an tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology from July 1996 to May of 2009.
In addition, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Anthropology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and recently retired from the Editorial Board for the Journal of Forensic Sciences after 10 years of service. Throughout his career, Dr. Falsetti has deployed to multiple human recovery sites at several major mass fatality incidents including the Oklahoma City Bombing, the crash of TWA Flight 800, 9/11 at the World Trade Center, the Thailand Tsunami, and most recently in Haiti. Dr. Falsetti also worked on several noted historical cases including the search, recovery, and identification of the missing children of Tsar Nicholas II. Anthony received his Ph.D, M.S. and B.A. from the University of Tennessee with a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the State University of New York – Stony Brook.
Dr. Lee Ann Grossberg, MD
President and Founder – Forensic Pathology Consultation Services
Dr. Lee Ann Grossberg is the president and founder of Forensic Pathology Consultation Services, which is a consulting company dedicated to providing forensic medical consultation and expert witnessing in death-related cases. The consulting company is based out of Houston, Texas, but has grown to include numerous experts in various forensic medical fields around the country who can be called upon depending on the specialized needs of a case.
Dr. Grossberg is a native born Houstonian. She graduated from St. John’s School in 1985 and went on to attend the highly competitive Plan II Multidisciplinary Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1989, she received her B.A. from Plan II with additional minors in Art History and English. Dr. Grossberg received her medical degree in 1993 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, after which she completed a five-year residency in combined anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Dr. Grossberg spent an additional year of specialized training in forensic pathology at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of North Carolina.
In 1999, upon completion of her extensive training in the fields of anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology, Dr. Grossberg returned to Houston and worked as a medical examiner at the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office until 2001, at which time she founded her own forensic pathology consulting firm in order to provide expert witnessing and consultation to the legal community in death-related cases. Dr. Grossberg continues to perform autopsies in addition to providing expert services.
Dr. Grossberg has performed over a thousand autopsies and has reviewed or participated in over a thousand more throughout the course of her career. She has 12 years of court testimony and deposition experience. Dr. Grossberg is board certified by the Board of American Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Forensic Pathology.
Lisa Jackson, MBA, BS
Lisa Jackson is the Forensic Supervisor for the Santa Monica Police Departments Forensic unit. She is responsible for managing the day to day operation of the Forensic unit; she manages a staff of 6 Forensic Specialist, 1 Lead Forensic Specialist, and 1 Identification Technician.
She has 14 years’ experience as a Crime Scene Investigator. She has investigated over 1500 major crime scenes utilizing various crime scene techniques. As a crime scene investigator, she has processed some of the most complex crime scenes utilizing techniques in recognizing, searching, collecting, and preserving evidence such as latent prints, hair, fibers and DNA. She has experience in crime scene photography, crime scene videotaping, chemical processing and automated fingerprint identification systems. She is also a technically competent expert witness on the subjects of friction skin analysis and crime scene processing. Lisa is also a respected member of the Forensic Community in the greater Los Angeles area where she serves as a liaison between Los Angeles County Law Enforcement Agencies and the Biometric Community.
She holds a MBA in General Management from Touro University. She also holds a B.S. degree from California State University Los Angeles with a major in Criminal Justice. She is the President of the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers (SCAFO) and Co-Chair of the Los Angeles County Forensic Supervisors Group. She is also an active member of the International Association of Identification (IAI) and California State Division International Association of Identification (CSDIAI).
Dr. Jason Kolowski, Ph.D., M.S.
Director – Washington D.C. Department of Forensic Sciences
Dr. Kolowski is the Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory section within the Washington D.C. Department of Forensic Sciences with overall responsibility for managing and providing strategic direction and oversight for all of the forensic laboratory processes in the DNA, Firearms, Latents, Materials Sciences, Controlled Substances, and Digital Evidence units.
Dr. Kolowski has over twelve years of forensic experience, beginning his career at the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner, where he began as a DNA and crime-scene analyst, worked to develop and validate the mitochondrial DNA laboratory, served as long-term supervisor to the Homicide and Sex Crimes section, and oversaw the internal development of a custom LIMS program before accepting the managerial position in Washington D.C. Dr. Kolowski holds a Fellow certification with the American Board of Criminalistics, and is a member of both the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Chemical Society. Dr. Kolowski is a co-author of the book Forensics Demystified, has authored peer-reviewed research articles, and serves as a reviewer for the Forensic Science International: Genetics journal.
Dr. Kolowski earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the City University of New York, a Master of Science in forensic science from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and philosophy from Cornell College.
Timothy Kupferschmid, MBA, MFS
Sorenson Forensics — Executive Laboratory Director
Timothy Kupferschmid is an entrepreneurial-minded executive with more than 20 years of forensic DNA experience. He has extensive international experience in French and English speaking Africa. Mr. Kupferschmid holds an MBA from Western Governors University, a master’s degree in forensic science (MFS) from the George Washington University and an AB degree from Bowdoin College in biology and environmental studies. Mr. Kupferschmid has worked as a senior DNA analyst at the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL), served as the Laboratory Director of the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory and was the Forensic Technical Director at Myriad Genetic Laboratories, Inc. Most recently, Mr. Kupferschmid was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD). He served on this volunteer Board from 2005-2008. Current and past professional memberships include American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM), Maine Medico-Legal Society, Maine Management Service, NDIS (National DNA Index System) Audit Review Panel and the Utah Valley University Biotechnology Program Advisory Board. Mr. Kupferschmid has given hundreds of scientific presentations and has numerous scientific publications. Mr. Kupferschmid is active with the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and the World Trade Center Utah.
Dr. Henry C. Lee, Ph.D.
University of New Haven — Director of Forensic Research and Training Center
Dr. Henry C. Lee is one of the world’s foremost forensic scientists. Dr. Lee’s work has made him a landmark in modern-day forensic sciences. He has been a prominent player in many of the most challenging cases of the last 50 years. Dr. Lee has worked with law enforcement agencies form 46 countries in helping to solve more than 8000 cases. In recent years, his travels have taken him to England, Bosnia, China, Germany, Singapore, Croatia, Brunei, Thailand, Middle East and other locations around the world.
Dr. Lee is currently the director of Forensic Research and Training Center and Distinguished Professor in Forensic Science of University of New Haven. He was the Chief Emeritus for Connecticut State Police during 2000 to 2010 and was the Commissioner of Public Safety for the State of Connecticut during 1998 to 2000 and has served as that state’s Chief Criminalist from 1978 to 2000. Dr. Lee was the driving force in establishing a modern state police communication system, Community based police services sex offender and DNA databank, major crime investigation concepts and advanced forensic science services in Connecticut.
